This program offers a distinctive combination of conventional chemical and civil engineering principles integrated with cutting-edge environmental studies centered on water. Its objective is to prepare students through education and practical training for careers in the water sector, enabling them to safeguard public health and ecosystems. The curriculum covers subjects like hydrology, hydraulics, water quality assessment, water and wastewater treatment processes, system operations and maintenance, as well as specialized biology and chemistry related to water resources. In their second year, students can select from two tracks: Environmental Monitoring (EM) or Water and Wastewater Technology (WWT). The EM specialization features courses in groundwater hydrology, limnology, and freshwater ecology, while the WWT track focuses on municipal/industrial wastewater treatment, distribution networks, and automated control systems. Every student must undertake a culminating technology project that applies the program's theoretical knowledge and hands-on learning.
