This program offers a distinctive mix of conventional chemical and civil engineering principles integrated with cutting-edge environmental studies centered on water. Its objective is to prepare students through education and hands-on training for careers in the water sector, enabling them to safeguard public health and ecosystems. The curriculum covers subjects like hydrology, hydraulics, water quality assessment, water and wastewater treatment processes, system operations and maintenance, as well as specialized biology and chemistry related to water. In their second year, students can select one of two tracks: Environmental Monitoring (EM) or Water and Wastewater Technology (WWT). The EM track features specialized coursework in groundwater hydrology, limnology, and freshwater biology, while the WWT track focuses on municipal/industrial wastewater treatment, distribution systems, and industrial automation. All participants must complete a culminating technology project that applies the program's theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
