Students investigate speculative concepts about life, physical being, and materiality through interdisciplinary studio methods in a cooperative educational setting. Life Studies integrates varied viewpoints and hands-on techniques from arts, sciences, and humanities. Grounded in modern ecological, biological, technological, and sustainability frameworks, participants develop concept-driven studio work across any medium by engaging with living systems, corporeal forms, and decolonial perspectives. The program encourages free experimentation with diverse artistic forms such as sculpture, photography, drawing, painting, performance, printmaking, and time-based media. Collaborative projects extend both within the institution and externally, complemented by field excursions, showcases, and special programs. The curriculum fosters mentorship relationships, allowing students to first receive guidance before eventually providing it to others.
