This program offers graduates of basic electrical training the perfect opportunity to gain practical skills in electrical motors, controls, transformers, solid-state systems, and automation technology. The curriculum emphasizes developing troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Students will work on installing, diagnosing issues, and performing transistor calculations for power supplies, rectification, and electronic control circuits. The program covers installation and maintenance of: Transformers, Single-phase motors, Motor controls and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems

Further education possibilities
Electrician certification is mandatory in Nova Scotia. After employment, apprentices must register with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency under the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualification Act.
Red Seal Certification - apprenticeship graduates qualify for the inter-provincial exam. This nationally recognized credential allows certified tradespeople to work across Canada in designated trades.
