Northern's two-year Social Service Worker diploma prepares you to assist individuals, families, and communities as they navigate challenging life circumstances.
The collaborative, research-backed program explores the multifaceted factors shaping human behavior while equipping you with practical intervention skills.
You'll gain expertise in conflict resolution, crisis intervention techniques, and creating comprehensive, culturally-aware recovery plans to guide those you serve toward positive change.
Hands-on learning occurs through clinical simulations and a 15-week internship with a social service organization, culminating in both personal development and career readiness - all beginning at Northern College.
This SSW program offers qualified students with the required GPA a one-year pathway to complete our Addiction and Mental Health Worker certificate.

Grade 12 English (C, U) (Minimum 60% GPA required) or equivalent

Overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no individual Band score under 6.0, however, we will accept one band at 5.5.
TOEFL - A score of 550 paper and 213 computer-based and 79 IBT
