Northern's two-year Paramedic program prepares you for an exciting career in emergency medical services. You'll develop the expertise to deliver critical care during accidents and emergencies.
The program emphasizes leadership development and effective communication, alongside essential coursework in physical fitness, medical ethics, human biology, disease processes, and medication management. Through realistic simulations in a safe training environment, you'll hone your response to emergency situations. A distinctive feature of Northern's program is having working paramedics operating from the same facility, allowing you to observe professionals in real-time.
As you progress toward becoming a practicing paramedic, you'll first shadow ambulance crews before undertaking formal clinical placements. These rotations occur across more than 30 partner organizations, encompassing hospital emergency departments, maternity units, emergency call centers, and extended care facilities.
