Our two-year Chemical Engineering Technology diploma equips students with practical expertise for safely and sustainably producing oil and gas resources. This comprehensive program provides hands-on training in designing, developing, and managing oil and gas processing methods.
Modern chemical engineering technologists now employ digital solutions and automation to enhance safety, boost efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline operations. Throughout this program, you'll work with these advanced technologies while mastering their practical uses.
As sustainability becomes increasingly important and new technologies emerge, chemical engineering technologists will help shape our future. This diploma spans four 15-week semesters over two years.
The first year builds core competencies in oil and gas processing, safety protocols, and computer applications while strengthening mathematical, physical, statistical, and calculus skills.
During the second year, students undergo intensive 5-day training at Energy Safety Canada's premier Oil and Gas Production facilities in Nisku. This experience provides practical insights into process theory while working with actual equipment. Between academic years, students complete a 3-week Field Placement with industry partners like refineries, government agencies, or energy service providers.
