Our program includes field excursions, hosts guest speakers, and integrates contemporary topics into classroom discussions. North Bay features diverse places of worship—synagogues, mosques, temples, and churches—providing firsthand exposure to various religious traditions.
Increasingly, we provide students with practical learning experiences beyond the classroom. For instance, participants in our Death, Dying, and Spirituality course recently supported a palliative care center by helping with documentation, brochure design, and data management.
Graduates often pursue advanced degrees or enter professional programs such as law or education. With a Religions and Cultures degree, career possibilities span numerous fields including cultural affairs, business, education, and public service.
This program cultivates essential abilities like analytical reasoning, close reading, and effective writing. These valued professional skills also foster personal growth, empathy, and sound ethical judgment. Our alumni excel across various sectors—from legal practice to global initiatives to nonprofit work—thanks to these transferable competencies.
