As a student enrolled in any of the three primary disciplines within Nipissing University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts (AHVS, Studio, or Film), you'll gain exclusive access to specialized research and exhibition initiatives designed to enhance professional growth through dynamic collaborative projects with established artists, gallery curators, and community influencers. Our program's standout features include intimate class settings with a warm academic atmosphere, distinguished faculty with far-reaching interdisciplinary networks, generous studio facilities, and an inspiring natural setting for creative work.
We champion self-directed exploration and originality in our students while fostering inclusivity, individual artistic expression, and the pursuit of both intellectual and creative mastery. Our mission is to equip, motivate, and cultivate visually sophisticated art practitioners who think critically—individuals who will make meaningful contributions to the arts and society as culturally aware, socially conscious global citizens. Alongside our core strengths in traditional mediums like sculpture, painting, drawing, and printmaking (where students build essential technical skills), we offer cutting-edge studies in digital media, experimental performance visuals, video art, and environmental installations.
