Nipissing University offers four specialized streams: Policing, Corrections, Criminology, or Criminal Justice Studies. Our adaptable curriculum provides an optimal mix of academic knowledge and hands-on experience. Students engage in fieldwork, research projects, and collaborate with criminal justice practitioners. Those in the Policing stream explore criminal law, youth justice systems, and acquire essential policing skills. This unique program involves coursework at both Nipissing University and Canadore College, enabling students to earn both a college diploma and university degree within four years. The curriculum emphasizes ethical decision-making and community-oriented policing approaches.
Our emphasis on practical application and extensive field experience ensures graduates are highly employable. Alumni have secured positions with Correctional Services ministries, provincial police forces, the RCMP, and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre in diverse roles. Qualification Requirements

Official transcripts from all institutions (domestic or international) previously or presently attended, secondary schools, colleges and universities (Domestic and international applicants who have attended postsecondary institutions outside of North America must have their transcripts assessed. International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with at least six subjects, including three at a higher level, with a minimum final grade of 24, will be considered for admission. Students who successfully complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with a score of 24 or higher are eligible to receive up to 30 transfer credits, equivalent to one year of full-time study. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum score of 83 (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading, listening and writing, and a minimum score of 22 in speaking. International English Language Test Service (IELTS) : Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum 6 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
