Langara College's Criminal Justice Program equips students for diverse career opportunities in both public and private criminal justice sectors. This two-year program targets individuals pursuing entry-level positions in the field, offering full-time study options with part-time flexibility.
The curriculum combines academic arts courses eligible for university transfer, practical skills training, and hands-on experience. Admissions occur in both Fall (September) and Spring (January) semesters, with most courses offered during these terms and limited availability in Summer. Students are highly encouraged to volunteer with field-related organizations during their studies, gaining real-world exposure and practical application of their learning.
This program continuously adapts to evolving demands within the criminal justice system. Its development involved collaboration with an advisory committee comprising representatives from the RCMP, municipal police departments, Corrections Branch, provincial courts, private security firms, and other prospective employers in the field.
Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).
