At Nipissing, you can specialize in one of four areas: Policing, Corrections, Criminology, or Criminal Justice Studies. Our adaptable curriculum blends academic knowledge with hands-on learning. Opting for the Corrections pathway allows you to earn both a Canadore College diploma and a Nipissing University degree within four years. At Canadore, you'll explore subjects like psychology, reintegration strategies, program development, and interview techniques while completing a practical placement. This stream equips you with expertise in administration, group behavior, and counseling methods.
Our emphasis on combining academic concepts with practical application ensures graduates are highly employable. Alumni have secured positions with Correctional Services ministries, provincial and federal police forces, and fraud prevention agencies, working as analysts, officers, or legal professionals. Qualification Requirements

Official transcripts from all institutions (domestic or international) previously or presently attended, secondary schools, colleges and universities (Domestic and international applicants who have attended postsecondary institutions outside of North America must have their transcripts assessed.
International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with at least six subjects, including three at a higher level, with a minimum final grade of 24, will be considered for admission. Students who successfully complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with a score of 24 or higher are eligible to receive up to 30 transfer credits, equivalent to one year of full-time study.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum score of 83 (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading, listening and writing, and a minimum score of 22 in speaking.
International English Language Test Service (IELTS) : Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum 6 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
