Environmental science is a multidisciplinary area that applies scientific knowledge about our natural world to solve ecological problems. Those pursuing an Environmental Science Major acquire the skills to comprehend and tackle environmental concerns. The curriculum helps learners master various environmental specialties while cultivating essential fieldwork and lab techniques for interdisciplinary collaboration. These competencies equip graduates for roles in environmental research, compliance monitoring, and numerous other professional paths in this field. Participants obtain hands-on experience through two intensive, four-month paid internships in environmental organizations. Alumni emerge with versatile abilities suited to the expanding environmental job sector. They qualify for Professional Agrologist certification (through the Alberta Institute of Agrology) after completing the program. Further academic advancement is possible through graduate studies.
