The Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate program offered full-time. This unique, integrated curriculum builds both theoretical understanding and practical abilities in creative problem-solving essential for collaborating with clients and stakeholders in interior design projects. The coursework equips students with the professional competencies and foundational knowledge needed to perform interior design responsibilities effectively. The BID program combines essential interior design classes with a robust liberal arts component delivered through ten General Education courses. Typically spanning eight semesters, the program includes a mandatory 450-hour professional internship following the sixth semester.
The BID curriculum focuses on three primary study streams (Design Precedent, Systems, and Design Tools) alongside studio work. These core components provide grounding in design theory, research methodologies, collaborative practices, technical skills, and professional standards. Studio sessions allow students to implement their learning through faculty-guided projects and peer collaboration.
