The Bachelor of Interior Design program aims to cultivate professionals who apply research and analytical skills to create innovative design solutions that enhance human experiences in interior spaces.
Through studio projects, students will engage with diverse environments including healthcare facilities, age-friendly living spaces, versatile designs, and communal areas. The curriculum integrates studies of cultural heritage, socioeconomic factors, human psychology, sustainable practices, and global awareness into design approaches. Learners will broaden their expertise by collaborating with construction professionals across electrical, woodworking, plumbing, and climate control disciplines. A mandatory field study component involves an 8-10 day exploration of a selected location. Complementing design studies, business and communication courses strengthen leadership abilities, marketing knowledge, and professional presentation skills. General education electives round out the degree requirements.
The program offers two competitive enhancements: a cooperative education option and a study abroad semester, both requiring a separate application process due to limited availability.
