Our program provides the essential skills to launch your career and achieve your goals. Through hands-on training, you'll master high angle rescue techniques, first aid, hazard recognition and response, and other critical skills. Training occurs both in real-world field settings and at our cutting-edge facilities that simulate emergency scenarios.
Instruction comes from dedicated certified instructors and active Fire Service professionals. The curriculum begins with foundational concepts and systematically progresses to meet all Level I and II standards set by the National Fire Protection Association.
You'll learn to handle emergencies and operate specialized firefighting equipment.

Qualification Requirements
Candidates for admission to the Technical Certificate Fire Rescue Program must have a High School diploma a grade 11 Public Examination Matriculation Certificate a Level III Adult Basic Education ABE Certificate or other qualifications judged by the Marine Institute to be high school equivalent Upon acceptance to the program all candidates must pass a medical examination and submit a Certificate of Conduct from their Local Police Force In addition candidates must possess a Valid Drivers License with an Air Brake Endorsement

Minimum score of 24 on the IB Diploma with completion of the required subject areas or completion of another recognized High School diploma program.
The IB certificate and career programs are not acceptable for admission unless another recognized High School diploma or certificate has been awarded.
IELTS - A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic with at least a band 6 in reading and writing General training results are not acceptable.
For admission to winter Jan 2025 and later A minimum score of 83 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing
For admission to fall Sept 2024 and earlier A minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.
Duolingo English Test DET until spring 2025 only - Requirement A minimum overall score of 115.
Pearson Test of Academic English PTE ACADEMIC - Requirement - For admission to winter Jan 2025 and later A minimum overall score of 60.
For admission to fall Sept 2024 and earlier A minimum score of 58 in each of the reading writing listening and speaking components of the PTE is required.
