The Chemistry Department at Memorial University ranks among the largest in Atlantic Canada, boasting 23 faculty members, 13 permanent lab instructors and assistants, plus various support and research personnel. More than 60 graduate students currently conduct research in the department's labs. Faculty research spans all key chemistry disciplines, including analytical, physical, inorganic, organic, computational theory, environmental/marine, and materials science.
MSc Program – This two-year, full-time degree combines coursework with thesis research, equipping graduates for roles in government/industry research, college instruction, or academic research and teaching.

Applicants shall have completed Bachelor's degree (minimum second class) in an appropriate area of study.
The minimum English proficiency test scores are as follows:
TOEFL: An aggregate score of 80 (92 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements).
IELTS Academic: An aggregate score of 6.5 (7 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements).
Duolingo English Test: An aggregate score of 115 (125 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements).
CAEL - A score between 50 and 60 in each of four bands, with at least 2 band scores of 60.
MET: A score of 59%.
PTE Academic - Minimum scores of 58 in each of reading, writing, listening, and speaking
