The Department of Biology at Memorial University hosts more than 100 graduate students, supported by 25 full-time faculty members and various cross-appointed professors from other departments. Around 20 external researchers, primarily from government labs specializing in agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and wildlife, hold adjunct positions and participate in graduate supervision as co-advisors and committee members.
The Biology department collaborates with the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE) and Environmental Science (ENVS) programs, both offering M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Prospective students must apply directly to either the CABE or ENVS program.
