The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University provides thesis-focused graduate programs for both Master of Engineering (MEng) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, covering Civil Engineering along with interdisciplinary areas like mechanics, structural materials, and hydrotechnical/environmental engineering.
Civil engineering graduate students benefit from dedicated facilities such as concrete and structural testing labs featuring a thick concrete floor for dynamic experiments, a hydraulic lab with an extensive wave tank, environmental testing spaces, soil simulation equipment, wave-soil interaction tanks, acoustic research tanks, ice research labs with specialized cold chambers, on-site fabrication workshops, and a geotechnical centrifuge managed by C-CORE.
Typically completed in two years, the MEng program mandates four courses, a seminar component, and a thesis project.
Applicants must have completed Bachelor's degree (minimum second class or ‘B’ standing) in an appropriate area of study
