Economics is a diverse discipline. Memorial University provides practical economics courses covering numerous specialties such as environmental studies, natural resources, global markets, monetary systems, public policy, social welfare, employment, and healthcare economics. Our team of 10 dedicated faculty members are both skilled educators and engaged scholars in these areas, eager to inspire students with their enthusiasm for economic studies.

MA – While grounded in solid theoretical principles, our MA program emphasizes practical economic applications. The coursework track, achievable within twelve months, consists of two semesters of classes followed by a research project. Please be aware that the thesis pathway is temporarily suspended.

Graduate diploma MA Bachelors degree minimum second class in economics or a closely related field international applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a valid GRE score report

Two 2 letters of appraisal Grad Reference.

TOEFL - An aggregate score of 80 - 92 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements.
IELTS Academic - An aggregate score of 6.5 - 7 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements.
Duolingo English Test - An aggregate score of 115 - 125 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements.
CAEL - A score between 50 and 60 in each of four bands with at least 2 band scores of 60
MET - A score of 59 percent.
