Energy systems engineering is a vital field requiring innovation and skilled professionals. The growing demand for reliable, high-quality energy in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as worldwide, has increased the need for advanced professional training in energy-related disciplines. Sustainable energy requirements and environmental considerations surrounding traditional methods call for substantial advancements in energy systems engineering.

Developing more sustainable solutions demands research and innovation to create energy production and usage methods that are economically feasible, widely accessible, and environmentally friendly. This interdisciplinary program tackles the complexity and diverse technical expertise needed by the industry.

Two specialized streams are available:

The Energy Conversion Technical Stream concentrates on energy generation and consumption, while the Power Systems Technical Stream emphasizes the electrical components of energy engineering. The Energy Conversion stream is tailored for students holding an engineering degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial, or related fields from accredited institutions. The Power Systems stream is designed for those with electrical engineering or related degrees from recognized universities.
