The Energy Systems Engineering Technician (Fast-Track) program offers college or university graduates direct entry into Year 2 (Semester 3) of this two-year diploma, allowing them to earn their Technician qualification in just two semesters.
Students will develop crucial skills for analyzing diverse energy sources and their applications in contemporary society. With shifting societal perspectives on energy and the environment reshaping utility and construction industries, this engineering program tackles both the obstacles and advantages of implementing modern sustainable energy solutions within urban settings. Accordingly, project management training tailored to urban contexts will enhance the technical coursework.
The utility industry is experiencing a fundamental transformation in operations, creating opportunities for pioneering energy initiatives that utilize decentralized sources—including solar, wind, hydro, fuel cells, geothermal systems, gas turbines, and biomass—to supply power, heating, and cooling to residential and commercial properties. Simultaneously, the construction sector has embraced numerous green building standards, accelerating the adoption of sustainable architectural and engineering approaches.
