The Department of Psychology consists of around 30 faculty members and 60 graduate students. Faculty maintain dynamic research initiatives across various psychology disciplines, often requiring participation from community volunteers. PhD Program – The doctoral program includes coursework, comprehensive examinations, and a dissertation, typically completed within four years of full-time enrollment. Research concentrations include behavioral neuroscience, cognitive studies, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, or social psychology.

The social psychology experimental track provides specialized training in health psychology, forensic psychology, social cognition, attitude formation, social rationality, and program assessment. The curriculum prioritizes research methodology, experimental design, and statistical analysis. Students develop expertise by performing original research that culminates in a thesis. Potential thesis topics encompass diverse inquiries into health-related social factors, social perception, attitude formation, judgment processes, group influence, and legal psychology. Graduates receive a Master of Science degree, preparing them for advanced academic pursuits (such as PhD programs) or research positions in corporate, government, and academic environments.
