The ocean and naval architectural engineering program encompasses two primary disciplines: ocean engineering focuses on creating and evaluating equipment and structures for marine operations and resource development, while naval architecture involves designing and building vessels and underwater systems for maritime needs. This field demands expertise in structural design, fluid dynamics, and marine engineering systems.
Memorial's Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science provides the sole cooperative education program in ocean and naval architecture worldwide. Recognized among North America's leading programs, it equips graduates with expertise in fluid and solid mechanics, dynamics, hydrostatics, probability, oceanography, wave theory, and marine hydrodynamics to design optimized marine systems and vessels by integrating various technical disciplines.
Duration: Five years (including Engineering One plus four years of specialized study)
