This field integrates knowledge from psycholinguistics, fundamental linguistics, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and corpus linguistics to explore the relationship between language structure, language processing, and the neurological foundations of language. Housed within the Linguistics and Languages department, the interdisciplinary MSc in Cognitive Science of Language involves faculty from Humanities, Science, and Health Sciences. With a strong research focus, the program covers cognitive science, corpus linguistics, neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and theoretical linguistics. Students engage with key topics at the intersection of linguistics, cognitive science, and cognitive neuroscience while developing research methodologies. These competencies culminate in a thesis project.

Student must have: Honours Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; B+ (B- for Engineering) minimum average, based on a full year equivalent of final year courses (3rd/4th level) relevant to the program.
