This research-intensive graduate program emphasizes deepening understanding of the software development process, encompassing design, coding, testing, documentation, and maintenance. The Computing and Software Department at McMaster University drives computing innovation through both academic instruction and investigative work. Our research tackles computational challenges that bridge theoretical science and practical engineering applications. We aim to meet societal demands for improved information system methodologies and reliable, secure, high-performance software solutions.
The program requires completion of four graduate-level courses and a successful thesis defense. Additional coursework may be mandated by the graduate committee based on individual assessment. All academic plans require final authorization from the Department Chair.
