The Medical Radiation Sciences (MRSc) program is offered jointly by Mohawk College and McMaster University. Established in September 2004, this initiative stemmed from collaborative talks between McMaster's Faculty of Science and Mohawk's Medical Imaging department. These institutions are recognized as frontrunners in Ontario's health sciences education, with a proven history of successful partnerships and educational advancements.
Graduates of the MRSc program become healthcare practitioners utilizing various radiation technologies for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, entering one of healthcare's most rapidly expanding sectors. Participants earn dual qualifications: an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Sciences from Mohawk alongside McMaster's Bachelor of Medical Radiation Sciences degree. This unique framework allows students to obtain both credentials concurrently.
The program's curriculum builds a robust base of scientific knowledge while blending clinical training with academic studies across specialized fields. It adheres to professional competency standards and cultivates abilities that foster continuous, independent learning - equipping graduates to take on vital roles within healthcare teams.
Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete Grade 12 high school diploma equivalent to Canadian qualification.
