This 30-credit program is designed to equip Indigenous educators with specialized skills for teaching in middle school settings within their communities. While it doesn't provide provincial certification, it enhances the capabilities of bilingual Indigenous teachers or those with knowledge of their native language who are already practicing educators. The curriculum emphasizes developmentally and culturally responsive teaching methods for this age group. Special attention is given to addressing the psychological, emotional, and social requirements of Indigenous adolescents, while preparing teachers to effectively guide students through the transition from elementary to secondary education.
