Accounting and Financial Management experts form the foundation of every company, and Langara graduates are equipped to rise to the occasion. The BBA Accounting Concentration fulfills the prerequisites to optimize exemptions for professional accounting certifications (CPA). Business and general education courses are also integrated to provide students with a comprehensive business education, focusing on analytical decision-making, strategic leadership, and collaborative skills. The Financial Management Diploma allows students not pursuing an Accounting designation (CPA) to select electives from various business or non-business disciplines.
This two-year diploma program aims to equip students for careers in accounting and financial services. The coursework blends business and academic subjects, giving students hands-on accounting and financial service skills while strengthening their analytical and decision-making abilities. Numerous program courses qualify for university-transfer credits or exemptions from professional accounting bodies like the Certified General Accountants Association, the Certified Management Accountants Society, or the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Additionally, many courses contribute toward professional certifications in credit management, banking, trust administration, and insurance.
Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).
