The Canadian Studies program is designed for individuals looking to gain profound insight into our nation's culture, historical roots, distinctive identity, and societal challenges. Foundational courses offer analytical viewpoints on key debates and pressing matters in modern Canada. Students can choose from numerous supplementary courses that explore the foundations and mechanisms of Canadian society.
Interdisciplinary in nature, core courses feature instructors from various fields presenting their specialized viewpoints on topics. Students have flexibility in selecting non-core courses from diverse subject areas. The program addresses contentious topics including racial discrimination, evolving gender dynamics, workplace challenges, Indigenous issues, Quebec sovereignty movements, and U.S. influence.
Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).
