Lambton College's Electrical Power Distribution & Control Technician program equips students for successful careers in the broad electrical industry. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on lab work, participants develop practical skills alongside comprehensive theoretical knowledge of electrical principles. The curriculum covers electricity fundamentals, PLC wiring and programming, control systems, power generation and distribution, residential/commercial/industrial circuit installation, electrical code interpretation, and modern electronic/instrumentation applications. An optional co-op component allows students to acquire valuable field experience, often leading to permanent employment opportunities. Despite being a recently introduced program, numerous graduates have already transitioned their co-op placements into fulfilling long-term careers.

Grade 12 English C or U
Grade 12 Mathematics C or U
Grade 11 or 12 Physics C or U (recommended)
Please Note: Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology or any Grade 12U mathematics is recommended, Grade 12 Foundations for College Mathematics (MAP4C) minimum final grade is 60%. If the program is highly competitive, preference will be given to students having Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology or any Grade 12U mathematics, as well as Physics C or U.
