The Accelerated Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology program is tailored for individuals holding a B.Sc. in Chemistry or similar qualifications. Participants will engage with fundamental coursework from the Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology curriculum, exploring the scientific foundations behind modern industrial processing technologies. Instruction takes place in Lambton College's recently upgraded Centre of Excellence in Energy & Bio-Industrial Technologies, featuring advanced laboratory spaces and pilot plant equipment. This facility replicates authentic production settings, with technologies that can be directly adapted for full-scale industrial operations. The Center provides cutting-edge technological labs and resources to facilitate education and research in emerging industrial technologies through industry partnerships. The curriculum includes hands-on collaborative projects that develop teamwork, communication, interpersonal abilities, and analytical skills. Please note this program has specific physical demands. Graduates will be prepared to take the TSSA 4th Class Operating Engineers Certification examinations (4A and 4B), a recognized industry credential that opens diverse career paths. After completing the initial two terms, students may petition the TSSA for a nine-month credit toward their 4th Class Operating Engineers Certificate's practical steam time requirement. TSSA registration criteria and associated costs are determined solely by the TSSA and represent additional requirements beyond the CPEX program's academic and financial obligations.
