The Master of Science in Archaeological Science offers comprehensive theoretical and practical training, equipping students with the skills to apply scientific approaches to studying ancient human cultures. Anthropology students will gain expertise in utilizing analytical techniques from related fields like chemistry, physics, geology, and biology for archaeological investigations, while students from those scientific disciplines will acquire knowledge of archaeological methodologies to better implement their specialized expertise. This innovative program fosters both transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning. Research opportunities span diverse areas including but not limited to: archaeobotany, archaeometry, digital archaeology, bioarchaeology, classical archaeology, paleoecology, geoarchaeology, molecular archaeology, and zooarchaeology, among others.
