The Sociology Department provides an advanced degree program focused on deepening students' understanding of their social environments while strengthening their capacity for autonomous, analytical thinking about key societal challenges. Our curriculum now includes a course-focused graduate option in Sociology, available both in the general program and within our three specialized tracks. After completing their initial semester, students may request transfer to the thesis-based stream.
Pursuing Sociology serves as excellent preparation for various professions including social services, legal practice, media, and healthcare. Graduates frequently choose paths in education or vocational guidance, while others pursue opportunities in public administration, rehabilitation services, nonprofit sectors, and corporate environments. With our emphasis on developing strong research capabilities, sociology graduates are frequently recruited for data collection and interpretation roles across diverse industries. The discipline examines all dimensions of human interaction, from personal connections to organizational structures and broad societal patterns. Sociological inquiry encompasses vital topics such as healthcare systems, family structures, criminal behavior, technological impacts, cultural trends, societal transformation, economic systems, identity studies, educational frameworks, class disparities, and various forms of bias and exclusion.
