Exploring History academically and professionally means breathing life into bygone eras. This field covers the full spectrum of human existence, from global conflicts to pop culture phenomena, continually transforming as our understanding deepens and viewpoints shift. As a History student, you'll enjoy the freedom to follow your passions within the discipline while benefiting from close faculty mentorship thanks to our intimate class settings. Our curriculum offers diverse historical methodologies and equips you with critical tools to examine any subject through a historical lens. You'll investigate topics spanning North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and South Asia, including: Indigenous Histories, Digital Archives, Ecological History, Gender Studies, Global Development, Political Evolution, Healthcare History, Warfare Studies, and Societal Transformations.
You can pair your History degree with programs in English, French, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Gender Studies, Outdoor Education, or Concurrent Education. Pursuing a double major lets you connect historical insights to specific disciplines and tailor your academic journey from the outset. Additional certificate programs are offered. Students may also opt for specialized tracks in Public History or Military History within their degree.

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD); or Completion of Grade 12 and the Secondary School Diploma; A minimum of 6 Grade 12U or M courses, or equivalent, including program specific prerequisite courses; A minimum 70%* overall final average International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme applicants who achieve their diploma with a total score of at least 24 may be eligible for admission. Three Higher Level subjects must be completed. Prerequisite courses can be presented at either Standard Level or Higher Level. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
