The Fine Arts department provides a two-year Diploma Program and a one-year Certificate Program, both structured to help students build a strong foundation in fundamental visual arts techniques. Certain courses and course combinations within the Diploma program can count toward third-year admission into KPU's BFA in Visual Arts or serve as transfer credits for Fine Arts and Education programs at other universities.
After finishing the two-year diploma at KPU, graduates will have gained both conceptual understanding and practical abilities to work competently across various artistic mediums. These acquired skills allow students to further explore their creative growth independently, through the BFA in Visual Arts program, or at other higher education institutions. The majority of Fine Arts credits are eligible for university transfer.
The department encourages students to design their studies with a focus on one or more specialized disciplines, including ceramics, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and digital media.
