The Advanced 2D Digital Animation Production program is an intensive two-year, full-time cohort experience centered on core 2D animation principles and production workflows. Participants will explore multiple specialization areas including character animation, visual effects, character and background design, storyboarding, digital painting, rigging techniques, and lighting/compositing. The curriculum emphasizes visual narrative techniques, shot composition, cinematography fundamentals, and covers all stages from pre-production through post-production - including critical analysis, project scheduling, teamwork, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Students gain hands-on experience with professional-grade software, production pipelines, and industry-standard workflows. Throughout the program, they'll develop a professional demo reel showcasing either individual projects or collaborative work.

Pre-production coursework concentrates on visual development, shot planning, and cinematography, supplemented by foundational classes in figure drawing, sculpting, and perspective techniques.

Animation courses delve into movement principles, character performance, and physical mechanics, while teaching digital rigging methods for cut-out animation styles prevalent in studio productions. The program also covers essential 2D effects animation for creating natural elements like water, smoke, and fire.

Post-production training focuses on color theory and professional compositing/lighting techniques for 2D animation.

Beginning with classical drawing and sculpting methods, students apply these fundamentals to digital environments, character models, and animated sequences. The program integrates visual development, shading, and compositing to produce refined final outputs.

This program is ideal for creatively inclined individuals with artistic backgrounds. Strong traditional art skills (drawing, painting, sculpting) are strongly recommended, along with technical aptitude for digital tools, as the curriculum employs current industry production methods. These combined artistic and technical competencies prepare graduates for demanding roles within the 2D animation field.
