The Health Foundations program equips students with core competencies needed to advance in healthcare education. Graduates may apply through a competitive selection process to enter the last three years of either the Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing programs, or pursue other undergraduate degrees at KPU or other institutions.

Please be aware that acceptance into the Health Foundations program doesn't automatically secure enrollment in specific courses. Those aiming to earn the Health Foundations Certificate and transition into Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing programs must formally declare their intent and meet the established admission criteria for those programs.

Qualification Requirements

In addition to the Faculty's Admission Requirements, which consist of KPU's undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement, the following program admission requirements apply: English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum grade of B; or an undergraduate English course with a minimum grade of C+ Anatomy & Physiology 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum grade of B; or an undergraduate Biology course with a minimum grade of C+ Chemistry 11 (or equivalent) with a minimum grade of B; or an undergraduate Chemistry course with a minimum grade of C+ International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test: overall band of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum 6.0 in each band, taken within the last two years from the term of admission Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): iBT 88 or higher, with no sub score less than 20, taken within the last two years from the term of admission Duolingo English Test: Score of 110 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission. Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Score of 70 or higher with no sub score less than 60, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
