This specialized program equips internationally trained nurses (IENs) for professional nursing careers in Canada. Tailored for IENs who possess foundational nursing knowledge, it meets the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) requirements for updating and improving nursing competencies before practicing and obtaining licensure in Canada.
The program aims to:
Equip IENs for work in Canada's healthcare system
Refresh and expand existing knowledge and abilities
Recognize and fulfill individual learning requirements
Guarantee graduates satisfy professional standards
Develop strong communication skills with patients and healthcare teams
Note: Clinical training occurs at various Lower Mainland healthcare facilities from North Vancouver to Chilliwack. Participants must arrange their own transportation to clinical sites.
You have graduated high school (secondary school) OR completed 24+ credits of undergraduate-level credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
English Proficiency Requirements
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test: overall band of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum 6.0 in each band, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): IBT 88 or higher, with no sub score less than 20, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Score of 70 or higher with no sub score less than 60, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Pearson Test of English (PTE): Score of 61 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Language Proficiency Index (LPI): Level 5 with an essay score of 30 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission.
