As the saying goes, "history serves as life's greatest instructor." The study of history provides learners with an essential framework for comprehending our collective past, current realities, and what lies ahead. King's History program cultivates both historical understanding and the capacity to employ discipline-specific critical analysis techniques. Learners refine crucial abilities for addressing modern challenges and opportunities: inquisitive thinking, analytical reasoning, evidence-based evaluation, along with strong communication skills and research techniques.

A history education unlocks boundless possibilities.

Research indicates that graduate schools and employers highly prize history graduates for their capacity to work effectively both alone and in teams. Notably, an American survey revealed history as the most frequent undergraduate degree among Fortune 500 CEOs.

History alumni thrive in varied, impactful careers across private and public sectors. They occupy influential roles that have transformed society. Their work fulfills intellectual passions, pursuit of understanding, and commitment to serving others. They champion vulnerable populations. They pioneer innovative approaches to work and life. Their sharp analytical skills enhance every professional path - whether in arts management or emergency services, literature or governance, education or legal practice, counseling or business ventures.
