Humber's Inclusive Resource Practice - Child and Family graduate certificate stands as Ontario's sole program of this nature. It uniquely provides a comprehensive lifespan approach (from childhood through early adulthood) for professionals working in the disability field. Delivered over two semesters beginning every September, the program equips graduates for careers supporting children, youth, and adults across various resource service environments. Students complete field practicums in both semesters, gaining hands-on experience while establishing valuable community connections for future career prospects.
This program equips you to work alongside professionals, individuals, and families to access diverse services that promote inclusion. Learners will enhance their understanding and skills in inclusive practices, developing a philosophy they can implement across various work settings. Graduates acquire specialized competencies to enter the workforce prepared to support individuals with diverse abilities and special needs. Grounded in inclusive principles, they ensure people facing physical, intellectual, social, or emotional challenges can fully participate in daily activities. Resource professionals foster meaningful relationships and collaborate with service providers to help individuals and families access support systems effectively.
