Humber's Mechanical Techniques – Millwright certificate program prepares aspiring millwrights for the profession. This program serves as a gateway to employment or fulfills the prerequisites for a millwright apprenticeship, offering hands-on training with industry standards and procedures. Students will develop comprehensive knowledge of millwright technical concepts and components. The curriculum emphasizes practical application, teaching essential skills like interpreting blueprints, working with hydraulics and pneumatics, machining, welding, electrical control systems, drive pumps, and precision measurement. Humber's experienced instructors incorporate modern industry developments and recreate real-world scenarios that apprentices and trades professionals commonly encounter in their daily work.
To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
Grade 12 Mathematics (MAP4C, MCT4C, MDM4U, MGA4U, MCV4U, MCB4U, MHF4U or equivalent)
Two Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above
or
Mature student status
or
College or university transfer status
CAEL Online or In-Person: Overall band score of 60; Cambridge English Tests Minimum FCE/CAE/CPE Score -> Minimum B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency Score: B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 169 (with no single subscore below 162) ; Duolingo Language Test+: 105 and above+ ; IELTS Academic Level: Overall 6.0 AND No band below 5.5; MET: 56; PTE: 53 - 57; TOEFL Academic Level: 550 for paper-based test OR 80 (20L, 20W, 20S, 20R) for internet-based test
