Humber's Construction Engineering Technology program is part of a trio of stackable credentials in the Carpentry-Construction category. Working alongside the Carpentry and Renovation Techniques certificate and Building Construction Technician diploma, this program provides foundational knowledge in carpentry trades and commercial project oversight while offering hands-on training in trade standards, commercial building methods, and cost estimation. Learners can progress from various certificate and diploma options (such as Carpentry and Renovation Technician, Industrial Woodworking Technician, and Building Construction Technician) into this advanced diploma program. The curriculum examines the construction field through both engineering and management lenses, equipping students with essential commercial project planning and implementation strategies.

Program graduates will develop construction management and engineering competencies suitable for entry-level roles in commercial construction. According to employment projections from 2017-2019 by Canada's Employment and Social Development Department (EDSC), the Greater Toronto Area anticipates robust construction sector growth, driven by workforce needs stemming from industry expansion and retiring professionals.
