The Electronics Engineering Technology program equips you with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills for circuit design, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic or data communication systems. Your coursework will cover electrical circuits, electronic fabrication, transmission principles, and programming basics for electronic systems, culminating in a 240-hour work placement.
As part of your studies, you'll undertake a capstone project focused on an electronic system of your choice. This involves hardware and software design, prototype construction, and testing phases. Past student projects have featured Bluetooth-controlled robotic arms, automated 3D scanning systems for printing models, RFID door access systems, and Wi-Fi-enabled water leak detectors with SMS alerts.
Graduates gain advanced standing in the Canadian Forces' Aerospace Telecommunication and Information Systems program. Those enrolling through the Non-Commissioned Member Subsidized Education plan qualify for salary, benefits, and educational funding. This CTAB-accredited program meets national technologist standards, with certification recognized across Canada's engineering technology field.
