Students acquire knowledge and practical skills to serve in a supportive role alongside licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and/or Audiologists across diverse clinical environments. The program emphasizes implementing treatment plans after these professionals complete assessments and establish therapy protocols. Learners obtain clinical practice through our on-campus speech, hearing, and language facility, as well as during field placements.
Building upon comprehensive knowledge of speech, language, and hearing disorders, students cultivate programming abilities and therapeutic intervention methods to initiate and maintain effective communication patterns. They also learn to recognize behavioral and environmental influences that may enhance or hinder treatment outcomes. Graduates qualify for positions as communicative disorder assistants (including roles like speech aides, therapy assistants, or hearing screeners), working with both pediatric and adult populations under professional supervision. Employment opportunities exist in educational institutions, healthcare facilities, community organizations, and private practices throughout the speech-language and audiology fields.
