To meet the growing need for real-time video production and streaming, Fanshawe's Advanced Live Digital Media Production program equips students with expertise for diverse media production careers.
This Fanshawe College program covers every stage of video production, from planning and filming to editing, distribution, and content repurposing. Students master the complete live production workflow, including scripting, execution, and live broadcasting. Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge field production techniques and modern technologies like networked production systems and streaming integrations. The curriculum also explores entrepreneurial paths and business prospects for independent production ventures.
Enhance your skills through either an internship or collaborative projects focused on live video production, building both your professional portfolio and industry connections. Create diverse live content including sports coverage, music productions, eSports broadcasts, and mobile journalism. Participants will also manage live event transmissions for Rogers TV and develop expertise in large-scale event production using IMAG technology for conferences and concerts.
Upon completion, graduates are prepared for roles as producers, directors, technical specialists, or production coordinators in film, television, gaming, radio, and performing arts. Career opportunities also include broadcast engineering positions, operating production systems for live television and digital streaming across various media organizations, production houses, gaming studios, advertising agencies, and audio-visual production companies.

- An Ontario College Diploma, Advance Diploma or a Degree in Media, Arts, Design or Computer Programming.
OR
- An equivalent qualification from another institution as judged by the College.
OR
- Professional background and experience as judged by the College to be equivalent to the above.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test with a minimum score of 88 for the Internet-based test (iBT), with test results within the last two years
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test with an overall score of 6.5 with no score less than 6.0 in any of the four bands, with test results within the last two years.
