Alumni from Fanshawe's Journalism program pursue dynamic media careers nationally and internationally. You'll acquire practical experience as both a storyteller and news presenter at Canada's pioneering CRTC-approved college radio station. The program teaches essential skills for community reporting, live broadcasting, producing multimedia content for 1069TheX.com, and disseminating news through social channels.

Qualification Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant with the following course Grade 12 English (C or U) Students who do not meet the admission requirements are recommended for academic upgrading. A conditional offer may be possible with proof of enrolment. Alternatively, applicants missing the required courses may want to consider our one-year Pre-Media Preparatory Program. Upon graduation, applicants meet all the admission requirements and have had some exposure to most programs in the School of Contemporary Media. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test with a minimum score of 79 for the Internet-based test (iBT), with test results within the last two years International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test with an overall score of 6.0 with no score less than 5.5 in any of the four bands, with test results within the last two years.
