The Educational Support program equips you with the essential abilities to work as an Educational Assistant. Prepare for a rewarding career as a teaching aide and positively influence students' educational journeys.
This program provides comprehensive training to help students with diverse learning needs as a teaching assistant. You'll master techniques for fostering self-reliance aligned with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), covering aspects like movement, language development, and self-care.
Throughout the program, you'll bridge classroom learning with practical experience. Field placements across various educational settings - from primary schools to post-secondary institutions - allow you to refine your abilities in supporting exceptional learners while receiving expert mentorship.
Obtain practical experience through supervised placements at each program level;
Acquire proficiency in adaptive technologies and educational support tools;
Develop competencies for assisting students with special requirements in daily living, social skills, behavior management, and academic support;
Learn instructional methods to present concepts in age-appropriate ways.
Upon completion, graduates will be fully prepared for Educational Assistant (EA) positions. As an EA, you'll become an integral part of school communities, collaborating to enhance student success. These professionals make significant contributions by supporting exceptional learners and promoting inclusive education environments.
