The Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies program requires students to develop competence across multiple disciplines and skill sets. Key requirements encompass: Applying fundamental cognitive and analytical abilities, particularly in effective verbal and written communication, quantitative reasoning, and understanding the scope, methods, and boundaries of humanities, natural/physical sciences, and social/behavioral sciences. Developing transferable learning skills applicable to professional and personal contexts, including problem identification, utilization of research resources (libraries, digital tools, technology), and the capacity to evaluate, combine, and apply diverse knowledge and methodologies. Cultivating client-oriented, critical, and self-directed thinking. Gaining awareness of historical and international perspectives on human accomplishments as explored through history, arts, and humanities. Achieving comprehensive expertise in a specialized field or interconnected subject areas.
An applicant must have graduated from an accredited or government recognized secondary school or have received his or her General Education Development (GED) certificate.
It is recommended (but not required) that an applicant completes the equivalent of 16 academic (university preparatory) units in secondary school.
