Durham College (DC) has partnered with Trent University Durham GTA (Trent) to offer a combined diploma and degree program that merges hands-on media production training with essential analytical and writing abilities. This program focuses on experiential learning, helping you develop confidence while creating a professional portfolio to kickstart your career in journalism, broadcasting, and media. Earn both an Ontario College Diploma in Journalism – Mass Media and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies within four years. Students take classes at both DC and Trent's Durham GTA campus annually (just 15 minutes apart by car or 25 by public transit). The curriculum sharpens writing, social media, and content creation skills through practical projects and internships, equipping graduates with the expertise needed for successful careers in broadcasting and journalism.
